University of Kansas University Senate

The University Senate brings together the voices of the Student, Staff, and Faculty Senates. The body recommends rules, regulations, and policies on behalf of the University’s faculty, staff, and students.

Senate Members

The University Senate is composed of fifty-four voting members elected from the Faculty, Staff, and Student Senates, who meet once per month to discuss and vote on pending university policies, resolutions, and other issues.

Executive Committee (SenEx)

Nine members from the University Senate meet twice per month, prior to the full Senate meeting, to discuss agenda items and bring matters of concern before the University Senate.

Standing Committees

The standing committees of the University Senate develop and recommend changes in procedures and policies within the areas of their responsibilities and report to the Senate on matters within their charge.
