FY-03 CHARGES TO THE INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS COMMITTEE

Approved by SenEx: 9/10/03

1. Work with the Office of International programs (OIP), International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS), the Office of Study Abroad (OSA) and the Applied English Center (AEC) to address issues affecting international students and programs.

2. Continue to facilitate University-wide understanding and awareness of the role and possibilities for international activities for KU faculty, staff, and students.

3. By November 1 of each year, provide to SenEx a list of specific additional charges based on the identified needs of the above four named units.

4. Submit to SenEx: a) the approved minutes of each meeting, b) recommendations for action as they are approved by the committee, and c) a final report by April 1 of each year. The final report should make clear what was done (or not done) about each of the charges to the committee and should make recommendations to SenEx for action. Additional charges will not carry forward to the succeeding year. Future committees can reactivate charges if desired. The report should also provide the names of possible future committee members and a chairman. Upon agreement by the committee, additional members can be added at any time. A representative of each of the four areas will always act as ex-officio members of the committee. The report may contain a suggestion of future additional charges.
